Tools needed:
• Drill
• Phillips screwdriver
• 3/16” drill bit
• 3/4” deep cut hole saw, with no center bit (part number 81013041)
• Replacement Steering Crank:
• Sport/Revolution 11: #81014001
• Outback/Revolution 13: #81016001
• Outfiter/Oasis: #81017001
• Adventure/AI/TI: #88991281
Instructions:
1. Remove the decal and screw from the top of the seized handle so the handle can be taken off.
2. Knock out the horizontal pin in the steering crank and remove the crank if possible.
3. Keep the lines attached the crank for now and try to keep it straight.
4. Use the hole saw and cut around the brass insert so it can be removed from the kayak.
5. Center the round top plate over the 3/4” cut hole and use the 3/16” drill bit to drill four holes through the deck of the kayak.
6. Place the large bottom plate inside the kayak and install the four screws with the Phillips screwdriver.
7. Put the spring on the new crank and install it into the new supports. Place the keeper pin in the hole.
8. Unhook the steering lines from the old crank and put them on the new one. It may be easier to loosen the steering lines at the rear if it’s too tight.
9. Place the steering handle on the top of the crank and install the screw and sticker.
